Erik Samayoa is currently the technical supervisor of the Molecular Diagnostic Lab at UCSF, which specializes in molecular-based inherited disease and hematology-oncology testing. He previously worked as a R&D specialist at the UCSF Viral Diagnostics and Discovery Center, and helped develop and validate a novel NGS-based clinical metagenomic assay.  Erik has been at UCSF for over 16 years in various clinical and research roles, which have included stints in prion research, clinical chemistry, microbiology and molecular diagnostics.
